Annapurna Poonhill Sunrise Trek
OVERVIEW
Hiking through villages and rhododendron forests is the relatively easy Annapurna Sunrise Trek, also called the Ghandruk Poon Hill Trek. The Annapurna range is breathtaking, especially from Poon Hill. A visit of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu precedes the trek's new beginning location of Hile, which is reached by car after a flight to Pokhara. You will trek to Ulleri, passing via Tikhedhunga hamlet and the Bhurungdi Khola. After ascending through rhododendron trees, you'll arrive in Ghorepani, where you'll spend the night. The following day, after hiking to Poon Hill for breathtaking views, you'll go on to Tadapani and Ghandruk, where you'll meet the Gurung people and see the Gurung Museum. At last, you will take a car back to Pokhara. For those looking for a short, gorgeous, and moderately strenuous trip, this nine-day adventure is perfect. The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, Annapurna Circle Trek, and Annapurna Circuit Trek are longer and more difficult options.
